Giorgio Gobbi joined Italian Design Brands in September 2015 and today is the Group’s Managing Director.

Originally from Milan, he started his career in the early 90’s in Whirlpool, in the sector of home durable products. Here, in a few years, he held different positions from marketing, to sales and operations in different branches in Italy, Austria, Germany and Southern Europe, before becoming Head of the EMEA headquarters of the Cooking and Refrigeration Business Units. Subsequently he became Managing Director of the Italian subsidiary of Ideal Standard, leading its development for several years.

After the experience in two American multinationals, both listed on the NYSE, he spent a few years in Marazzi before entering the furniture industry as General Manager, and later CEO, of Calligaris. Here he led the transformation of the company from a traditional producer of tables and chairs to a company focused on the promotion of its brand, both through the traditional retail channel and taking advantage of the many opportunities offered by the digital transformation.

Giorgio Gobbi holds a degree from Università Bocconi and has over the years furthered his studies on leadership and management.
